About the role

The FETCH Approach is an incubated project within DGMT. The FETCH Approach unlocks the potential of young people and their communities to fetch a future they aspire to. Rooted in the Basic Package of Support (BPS)—a collaborative programme led by with the University of Cape Town and the University of Johannesburg— the FETCH Approach builds on a proven model of connecting youth to opportunities for learning, earning, and personal growth.

Through coaching and service-strengthening initiatives, The FETCH Approach partners with civil society to create lasting impact. The name reflects its mission: to Facilitate, Empower, Transform, Connect, and bring Hope—helping young people take charge of their paths to success.

To realise our mission, we are looking to employ a Marketing and Communications Lead.  This is a key role in ensuring that all communications and marketing efforts drive organisational objectives and align with the FETCH Approach brand and values.

We are looking for a dynamic, creative and proactive person with strong communications and marketing experience.

Responsibilities
  • Development and implementation of a quality marketing and communications strategy for all stakeholders of the FETCH Approach, including implementing partners and funders.
  • Refine the FETCH Approach brand strategy, and drive brand awareness initiatives for various stakeholder segments.
  • Drive marketing efforts to support the recruitment of Implementing Partners.
  • Manage external consultants contracted to execute on marketing and communications initiatives and materials.
  • Financial management of the Marketing and Communications budget.
  • Periodic evaluation of marketing and communications strategies, with recommendations for improvement. 
Qualification
  • A Degree in the social sciences, with a degree in Marketing or Journalism being advantageous.
  • Any Coaching qualifications would be advantageous (i.e. Life coaching, Wellness Coaching or Leadership Coaching).
Experience
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a marketing or communications role.
  • Minimum 4 years’ management experience.
  • Experience in the youth development sector would be advantageous.  
  • Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
